The Coming of the Lord

Only yesterday the world witnessed the coming of the lord

My god said to the old man crumbled on the street corner

Rise and shine my children

My Allah said to the women sitting on the dirt floor of her one room school house

Rise and shines children of the lord

 

Yahweh walks through the streets

and said to all the passing little children

Children of the world come with me to heavens

A man asked if God was Christian

God replied I am the spirit inside you that feels like the wind in the banana trees

A woman asked if Allah was Muslim

But Allah only replied I am the

peace, the sorrow, the happiness, the despair,

and the hope within a grain sand washed up onto the beach

A young boy asked if Yahweh was Jewish

But Yahweh only replied look to the east which you thought was your origin.

Look to the west that is where you’ve never been.

Look to the south, there is something you’ve never seen.

Look to the north, there is something you’ve never felt.

But all together you know what they are.

That is who I am
